Laissez Les Bon Temps Roulez!
Mardi Gras Mask, with feathers and ribbons, in sugarpaste. Sparkly stuff on the mask is Moondust. Never again! Everything within five feet of the work area was sparkling (like Tinkerbell gone berserk).
Where's the King Cake, you may ask. Consumed. New cake is rising...will be ready for Fat Tuesday and more celebrating. For the Mardi Gras uninitiated, I'll post the meaning of the colors, cake and other symbols, tomorrow.

I always wait for your next masterpiece like a child on Christmas Eve. You never fail to deliver. I was thinking the other day what you would come up with for Mardi Gras. Waiting anxiously for the rest. Rita
Wow! I feel like I'm on Spring Break in New Orleans. Cool mask.

Hi Rita, both your posts did come through. I just posted the earlier one...By now you've probably seen my more recent posting with the King Cake. We had our traditional Mardi Gras celebration and are counting our blessings that tomorrow is Ash Wednesday. We are rolly-polly stuffed with Mardi Gras goodies topped with the gaudy cake. How do you like A's beads.? She can't contain her self-satisfaction.

Dannie, glad you like the mask...It would last about 5 seconds on Spring Break. It is very fragile, being made completely of sugar. I was breaking off pieces of the feathers while arranging them for the photographs. But I did put it up to my face for the briefest moment and was transported to a masked ball in NOLA...
